Corporate governance

We pride ourselves on honest, open, straightforward communication and therefore within corporate governance we have a range of reports and policies which discuss the relationships and responsibilities between the board, management, shareholders and other relevant stakeholders within a regulatory framework.

Corporate governance is the process by which company objectives are established, achieved and monitored.

Fraud

Ansvar Insurance is committed to maintaining a zero tolerance to fraud.  We have an implemented fraud policy which encompasses fraud protection and control and promotes consistent organisational behaviour by providing these guidelines to all staff and assigning responsibility for the development of controls and conduct of investigations. The board and management of Ansvar Insurance are committed to:

  • taking appropriate steps to avoid and prevent both internal and external fraud;
  • monitoring, reviewing and complying with systems and procedures to ensure that they, as far as practicable, reduce the opportunity of fraud being committed against Ansvar Insurance;
  • carrying out vigorous and prompt investigations if fraud occurs;
  • referring cases of suspected or proven fraud to the police and any other appropriate authority where appropriate;
  • taking appropriate disciplinary and recovery action against perpetrators of fraud;
  • taking disciplinary action against managers and supervisors where their failures have contributed to the commissioning of fraud; and
  • ensuring that when business processes or systems are changed that prevention and detection of fraud is part of the project specification.
