National Operations Manager
Melbourne, Head Office

The National Operations Manager is a critical senior role within the Organisation responsible for the management of the Company’s Business Development service delivery and operational Underwriting function. The National Operations Manager will assist the General Manager - Client Solutions in the implementation and management of the Company’s strategic and business plans, and driving the accountability and achievement of financial, strategic and business unit targets.

Reporting to the General Manager– Client Solutions and based within the Melbourne head office, key responsibilities will include:

  • Grow profitable sustainable business, by building and maintaining productive business relationships and ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement effective controls to ensure compliance obligations are met whilst having a focus on continuous improvement
  • Develop business plans to deliver on annual financial and strategic targets and provide to the General Manager – Client Solutions and wider Business Development and Underwriting teams the key metrics that drive success
  • Lead, coach and support direct reports and reporting functions to embrace Ansvar’s values and to effectively carry out their roles
  • Support the General Manager – Client Solutions in overseeing the implementation of Company strategy and delivery of actions that support the execution of strategic projects by the relevant business units.
  • Drive Ansvar’s customer strategy and engagement including distribution strategy development and execution
  • The National Operations Manager must be highly disciplined, with excellent planning and time management skills, with the proven ability to ‘think outside the square’ for the greater good of the Company. The National Operations Manager will also need to be decisive on critical business issues, passionate about the business and demonstrable experience in successfully executing on Company objectives.

    You will have a modern and progressive approach to business practices, coupled with the ability to identify, develop and successfully implement practical strategies for the growth and profitability of the Company’s portfolio. You will possess strong commercial negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills, aimed at growing successfully viable relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have at least 15 years’ experience working in an underwriting capacity and completed or be undertaking relevant insurance or tertiary qualifications.
