2017 Events & Conferences

Throughout the year we attend and sponsor events and conferences specific to our sectors. Partaking in these events provide attendees with an insight into who we are and what makes us specialists in our core markets. Listed below are those that we attended this year as sponsors and exhibitors.

AON - 2017 Leadership & Growth Conference: Gold Coast 21-24 February

AON convention focuses on empowering teams and leaders –by collaborating and leveraging our talent and capabilities at all levels to empower results for clients, colleagues and communities. Involvement as a Silver Sponsor enabled Ansvar to network with over 200 AON leaders across the organisation. Through client insight, thought leadership and innovation, the conference emphasised the theme that we can we all make a difference by delivering world class solutions and exceeding expectations. Throughout the conference we ran a successful competition from our exhibition stand. Congratulations went to Kevin Baker of AON Melbourne, who was our lucky business card draw winner, winning an Apple Watch and a $500 charity donation which Kevin chose to go to the Black Dog Institute.

NDS - NSW 2017 Conference: Sydney 23-24 February

National Disability Services – Australia’s peak body for disability service organisations – represents over 1000 non-government service providers which offers unparalleled access to a range of people providing specialist services to people with disability around Australia. The NDS NSW Conference 2017 'Turning Plans into Outcomes' provided delegates with the latest information and valuable insights into how their organisations can operate and be innovative in the NDIS marketplace. Our exhibition stand increased brand awareness and visibility among attendees in the disability and care sector and built our relationship with the NDS. We also had a competition to win a $500 donation to charity which proved very popular.

AFDA - 2017 National Convention: Melbourne 17-21 March

Formed in 1935, Australian Funeral Directors Association (AFDA) is the only national funeral service organisation with Member firms in every State and Territory. The convention provided innovative, valuable and practical ideas for your business and life, along with a full day workshop from renowned grief expert and author Dr Alan Wolfelt. Other key speakers included Les Twentyman OAM, youth advocate, social campaigner, media commentator and author, Derek Percival, Mischief Motivation Attitude, Victoria and also Stephanie Longmuir, Funeral Celebrant, Victoria. In addition to the great education program that has been developed, they put together fantastic social events that provided plenty of opportunities to see some iconic Melbourne sites.

NDS - VIC 2017 Conference: Melbourne 27-28 March

With the continued rollout of the NDIS, planning for change is something the sector understands. The NDS VIC Conference 2017 'Turning Plans into Outcomes' took the conversation in the direction of exploring the realities, risks and opportunities of delivering change and creating great outcomes for both participants and provider organisations. By attending both the NSW & VIC NDS Conferences we felt it gave us great exposure to the disability and care sector, increased our brand awareness and made our relationship with the NDS stronger. We also ran a competition to win a $500 donation to charity which once again proved very popular.

Steadfast - 19th Steadfast Convention: Sydney 1-4 April

The theme for 2017 was Evolve. Through this theme they discussed how success is gained when the new is embraced, how to take on the challenges that arise during a period of change and how to measure the impact of evolving. The convention provided a platform for brokers to discuss the big issues and share best practice experiences, ensuring brokers deliver great results when returning to their businesses. Exhibiting at the convention had us in front of our target market and demonstrated our level of support and commitment to this extensive broker network and its continued development. Those that visited our exhibition were entered into a competition to win a drone & a $500 donation from Ansvar Insurance to a charity of their choice or an Apple watch.

CMA - 2017 National Conference: Melbourne 6-7 June

The theme for this years CMA (Christian Ministry Advancement) Conference was ‘Confident Ministry in a Complex World’ and we were delighted to be the Premium Conference Sponsor at the conference. The conference moved to a new level with a number of International delegates. The program covered a wide array of relevant topics for leaders and board members of churches and other Christian organisations. The conference provided an opportunity for the attendees to be updated on the further development of the CMA Accountability Standards and CMA Networks with over 400 church and ministry leaders from 240 organisations attending the event this year in Melbourne.

Anglican Diocese of Melbourne - 2017 Conference: Melbourne 26-28 July

The theme for this years conference was Missional Leadership in the 21st Century. The Most Reverend Dr Philip Freier Archbishop of Melbourne’s noted that “The Ministry Conference will provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, experiences and tools that will encourage and equip leaders in their mission. It will broaden and deepen our ministry capability and leadership of God’s people.” The Conference is expected to attract in excess of 250 delegates from the Diocese of Melbourne: The Archbishop and Bishops, Archdeacons, Clergy & Lay ministers. As we were Coffee Cart Sponsors we had excellent placement of our logo which increased our brand visibility and strengthened our relationship with the ADOM.

Better Boards - The 11th Australasian Conference: Brisbane 28-30 July

The Better Boards Conference is a unique and highly respected governance and leadership event, one of the largest regular gatherings of leaders from not-for-profit organisations in Australasia. Each conference brings together hundreds of board members and chief executive officers from the Australian and New Zealand not-for-profit world. The ongoing focus of the conference content is governance and leadership for leaders of not-for-profit organisations. This years conference saw over 500 attendees across the three days. Being Trade Exhibitor Sponsors allowed us to meet with leaders of not-for-profit boardrooms and interact with Australasian not-for-profit organisations.

Christian Schools Association - 2017 National Leadership Retreat: Surfers Paradise 23-25 August

The 2017 Leadership Retreat focused on Building the Future – Next Generation Christian Schooling. The speakers shared their insights and journey of Kingdom Building and challenged the attendees in their own leadership roles. The Retreat gathers business managers & bursars, educators and those in governance & administration leadership together in a single event. As Platinum Sponsors we had high visibility in our booth presence and this aided our successful business card competition we ran. Andrew Johnson from Emmanuel Christian Community School in WA won a $1,000 Ansvar donation to his school + a strategic risk workshop for the school board and management team. Andrew was delighted as he mentioned they are currently doing major building projects and the donation will help greatly.

ACSA - 2017 National Summit: Cairns 12-14 September

ACSA is the strong, proactive voice for not-for-profit aged services providers and this years theme was ‘Power of Change’. ACSA collaborates with its membership to ensure powerful advocacy for a fair, responsive and caring society that values and supports older Australians. Being a Platinum Sponsor enabled us to have a high interaction level with attendees and we also had the chance to showcase our company by speaking at the Gala Dinner. We felt that this was hugely beneficial as we spoke about our Community Education Program grants recipients and what they have each achieved as a result from Ansvar funding. We ran another successful business card competition with Adrian Jones winning a $500 Ansvar donation to a charity of his choice and he picked Orange Sky in Brisbane, a free mobile laundry service for the homeless.

LASA - 2017 National Congress: Gold Coast 15-18 October

This years National Congress is inspiring people to ‘stay ahead of the game’. The Congress program has been carefully selected to ensure that delegates receive the most up-to-date industry information and detail, which can be implemented in aged care facilities and services. Particular attention has been made to ensure that providers, from across the spectrum of care, can access sessions which are pertinent to their operational needs. Congress also brings together a broad cross-section of those who support and supply the aged care industry. We were delighted to run a business card competition again with Christine McGaveston, from Paradise Lakes Care Centre in QLD, winning a $500 Ansvar donation to a charity of her choice. Christine picked,who help Mater Hospital's medical and research teams to work day and night to help save the lives of Mater's tiniest and most vulnerable patients.

ACCA - 2017 Annual Conference: Melbourne 15-18 October

The conference themes this year is to Emerge and Evolve. Through the presentations and education sessions, they intend to show attendee’s why it is so important for everyone to follow these themes into the future. They will challenge your thoughts about the cemetery and crematoria industry and ask attendee’s to look to the future, they will enhance what everyone already knows and show attendee’s things they may never have thought they would need to know. Expert suppliers from the cemetery & crematoria sector demonstrated and promoted the very best products and services relating to cemeteries, crematoria, technology, grief & bereavement, memorialisation, innovation, equipment and much more. We exhibited our 'Risk Solutions Reality Capture Services'. Reality Capture is the process of converting all the information we see on site into a complete digital record of our customers’ physical/built environment.

Melbourne Prayer Breakfast - 2017 Breakfast: Melbourne 20 October

Part of a global tradition, the Melbourne Prayer Breakfast is a networking event bringing together politicians, business people, students and faith leaders. During the early morning event attendee’s will enjoy a delicious breakfast, listen to musical entertainment from a talented artist, pray for those who live and work in our city, connect with others and be inspired by a keynote speaker. Their hope and experience is that the Melbourne Prayer Breakfast will trigger ongoing conversations about faith and the impact we can make in our city.

Faith-Based Governance & Dispute Resolution - Melbourne: 5-6 December

The conference brings together community leaders, agencies, regulators and experts to consider best practice in governance and dispute resolution in light of the Royal Commissions. The Faith-Based Governance & Dispute Resolution Conference will provide faith-based leaders, board members and employees the opportunity to hear from a stellar line-up of speakers. Hear directly from two Royal Commissioners, representatives from government regulators, and expert governance and dispute resolution researchers and practitioners, all within a tightly packed two-day schedule.
